According to BBC journalist David Ornstein, Arsenal have made an approach to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic on a loan deal this month with a £35 million option to buy at the end of the season.
The Gunners need to bolster their contingent of wingers, as Alex Iwobi is currently the only natural wide man available to Unai Emery for selection, following the serious injury sustained by Danny Welbeck earlier in the campaign (Independent).

Perisic would certainly give the north London club some much-needed quality depth in this part of the pitch, and the World Cup finalist would likely quickly become a regular starter at the Emirates Stadium. The 29-year-old’s extensive elite level experience would make him one of Arsenal’s most senior attackers.
However, £35 million is a huge fee to potentially have to pay for a player with only three goals and two assists to his name from 18 Serie A outings so far this season, as per Transfermarkt’s stats.
Plenty of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions on this potential signing, with views ranging from true excitement to those who feel it a shortsighted deal to strike. Here’s a look at some of the reaction…
