Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has criticised under-fire Everton boss Ronald Koeman on the Sky Sports Debate show, and doesn’t believe he is the right man for the job following the club’s latest 2-1 defeat against Lyon in the Europa League at Goodison Park on Thursday.
Despite the departure of last season’s top goalscorer Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United, hopes would have been high that the Toffees were going to enjoy a successful season having finished seventh in the Premier League last term as well as spending plenty of money on bringing in new players during the summer transfer window.
However, the Merseyside outfit have won just two of their eight top flight fixtures – including comprehensive defeats against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United – to leave them 16th in the standings.
Meanwhile, they have now taken just one point from nine available in Europe, and they already look to be on the brink of being eliminated from the competition before the knockout stages.
While the performance against the Ligue 1 outfit was perhaps better than the supporters had seen in recent weeks, a loss against Arsenal on Sunday could prove to be the final nail in the Dutchman’s coffin.

Jordan has obviously been keeping a close eye on Koeman and his body language in recent weeks, and he hasn’t been impressed with what he has seen.
The former Eagles chairman said: “Looking at him on the sidelines he looks dishevelled, he looks like he’s put on weight, he looks unkept. He doesn’t look like somebody that’s in control of the situation.
“I think he’s one of those who is quite adept at passing the blame and I know that he has quite a high opinion of himself.”
Everton will look to avoid a third home defeat in their last four matches when they host Arsenal at Goodison Park on Sunday.
