Mauricio Pochettino has tried to make the most of the large squad at his disposal this season compared to prior campaigns, particularly in the full-back and wing-back positions.
While Ben Davies and Danny Rose have very much shared duties on the left-hand side, game-time on the right defensive flank has been divvied between Kieran Trippier and summer signing Serge Aurier.
It was the 45-cap Ivory Coast international who started last time out against Everton, providing an early assist to Heung-min Son. But Trippier – who Transfermarkt value at £13.5million – appears to be Pochettino’s preferred option, making three more Premier League starts than the former PSG man so far this season.
This weekend, Tottenham are set to take on relegation-threatened Southampton at St. Mary’s and bearing in mind the quality Sofiane Boufal offers from the left flank, as he showed in the reverse fixture at Wembley, Spurs’ right channel could prove to be one of the most important departments.
So, Spurs supporters, who would you start this weekend? Let us know by voting below…
